YONKERS, NY — The Hudson River Museum ushered in the Year of the Pig with a lion dance and more on Sunday, Feb. 24. The museum’s first Lunar New Year Festival featured performances of Chinese folk dance by Yingli Wen, Chinese dulcimer by Ariane Kuo, Balinese dance by Miranda Danusugondo and Stephanie Ho of Gamelan Dharma Swara, and Balinese gamelan music by Victoria Lo Mellin and Joel Mellin, also of Gamelan Dharma Swara. The festival coincided with two exhibitions about the Moon that opened on Feb. 8 — “The Color of the Moon: Lunar Paintings in American Art,” which will be on view until May 12, and “A Century of Lunar Photography and Beyond,” which will be on view until Dec. 15.
